The Wolf, the Kid, and the Goat 🐺🐐 | A Simple Audiobook Story for Kids | Aesop’s Fables

Once upon a time, a Mother Goat lived in a small cottage with her little Kid.
One morning, Mother Goat needed to go to the market to buy food and supplies.
Before leaving, she carefully locked the door.
Then she turned to her son.
“Take good care of the house while I’m gone,” she said.
“And don’t open the door for anyone.”
The little Kid nodded.
Mother Goat continued,
“If someone comes to the door, only let them in if they know our special password.”
“What is the password?” asked the Kid.
Mother Goat replied,
“The password is: ‘Down with the Wolf and all his race!'”
“I’ll remember,” said the Kid.
What neither of them knew was that a Wolf was hiding nearby and listening to every word.
As soon as Mother Goat disappeared down the road, the Wolf hurried to the cottage.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
The Kid walked to the door.
“Who is it?” he asked.
In a soft voice, the Wolf replied,
“Down with the Wolf and all his race!”
The Kid was surprised.
That was the correct password.
But something didn’t feel right.
He peeked through a small crack in the door.
He could not clearly see who was standing outside.
The clever Kid thought for a moment.
Then he said,
“If you are really my mother, show me your white paw.”
The Wolf looked down at his dark gray paw.
Of course, he could not show a white paw.
He knew he had been caught.
With a growl of frustration, the Wolf turned and ran back into the woods.
The Kid watched him leave and smiled.
He was glad he had checked more than one clue before opening the door.
When Mother Goat returned, she was very proud of her smart little Kid.
The Lesson: It is wise to be careful and check the facts before trusting someone. One sign may not be enoughβ€”extra caution can keep you safe.
