The Fighting Cocks and the Eagle πŸ“πŸ¦… | A Simple Audiobook Story for Kids | Aesop’s Fables

Once upon a time, there were two Cocks living on the same farm.
Neither one liked the other.
Every day they argued and competed to see who was the strongest.
At last, one day, they decided to settle their disagreement.
The two Cocks flapped their wings and charged at each other.
They pecked.
They scratched.
They fought with all their might.
The battle went on and on.
Finally, one Cock became tired and defeated.
He slowly limped away and hid in a corner of the farmyard.
The other Cock had won.
He was very proud of himself.
To celebrate his victory, he flew to the top of the henhouse.
He spread his wings wide and crowed as loudly as he could.
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
He wanted everyone to know that he was the champion.
High above, an Eagle was soaring through the sky.
The Eagle heard the loud crowing and looked down.
He quickly spotted the proud Cock standing alone on the rooftop.
In a flash, the Eagle swooped down.
Before the Cock knew what was happening, the Eagle carried him away.
Back in the farmyard, the defeated Cock saw everything.
Slowly, he stepped out of his hiding place.
With his rival gone, he became the new leader of the farmyard.
And so, the proud winner lost everything because he could not stop boasting.

The Lesson: Pride and bragging can lead to trouble. It is better to be humble, even after a victory.
