One cold day, a Porcupine was searching for a safe place to live.
After a long search, he found a small, cozy cave. Inside lived a family of Snakes.
“Would you mind if I stayed here with you?” the Porcupine asked politely. “I only need a little space.”
The Snakes felt sorry for him and kindly agreed.

“Of course,” they said. “You are welcome to share our home.”
At first, everything seemed fine.
But before long, the Snakes discovered there was a problem. Wherever the Porcupine moved, his sharp quills poked and scratched them. The cave was small, and they could hardly avoid being hurt.
After putting up with it for some time, the Snakes finally spoke to him.
“We wanted to help you,” they said kindly, “but your quills keep injuring us. We think it would be best if you found another place to stay.”
The Porcupine shook his head.
“I’m quite comfortable here,” he replied. “I have no intention of leaving.”
Then, to the Snakes’ surprise, he claimed the cave as his own.
The Snakes realized they could no longer live there safely. With no other choice, they left their home and searched for a new one.
The Porcupine stayed behind, enjoying the shelter that the Snakes had generously shared with him.
Moral: Kindness is important, but it should be balanced with healthy boundaries. Don’t let others take advantage of your generosity.
