The Lion, the Donkey, and the Fox 🦁🫏🦊 | A Simple Audiobook Story for Kids | Aesop’s Fables

Once upon a time, a Lion, a Donkey, and a Fox went hunting together.
They spent the day searching through the forest and fields.
By the end of the hunt, they had gathered a large amount of food.
Now it was time to divide what they had caught.
The Lion turned to the Donkey.
“You divide the food,” he said.
The Donkey wanted to be fair.
So he carefully split everything into three equal piles.
“One share for the Lion, one share for the Fox, and one share for me,” he said proudly.
The Fox thought the division seemed fair.
But the Lion was not pleased.
He wanted more than the others.
With a mighty roar, the Lion became very angry.
The poor Donkey quickly learned that the Lion did not like getting an equal share.
Then the Lion turned to the Fox.
“Now you divide the food,” he growled.
The Fox thought carefully.
He had seen what happened to the Donkey.
So he gathered almost all the food into one huge pile for the Lion.
For himself, he left only a few scraps and leftovers.
The Lion smiled.
“Excellent!” he said.
“You have divided the food very wisely.”
Then he asked, “Who taught you to divide so well?”
The Fox politely bowed.
“I learned from the Donkey,” he replied.
The Lion laughed, and the Fox quietly stepped back.
He knew that paying attention to the mistakes of others can teach valuable lessons. Wise people learn from the experiences and mistakes of others instead of waiting to make the same mistakes themselves.
