The Rooster and the Fox 🐓🦊 | A Simple Audiobook Story for Kids | Aesop’s Fables
One beautiful morning, a Fox was sneaking around a farm.
He was looking for an easy meal near the farmer’s henhouse.
But the Fox was not careful.
Suddenly—SNAP!
He stepped into a trap.
The Fox pulled and tugged, but he could not get free.
Not long after, a Rooster woke up and began his morning walk around the farmyard.
As he looked around, he spotted the trapped Fox.
The Rooster knew the Fox often tried to catch chickens.
Since the Fox could not reach him, the Rooster stepped closer to take a look.
The Fox saw the Rooster and quickly began to think of a way to escape.
He put on his friendliest smile.
“Good morning, dear Rooster,” said the Fox.
“I was on my way to visit a sick relative when I accidentally got tangled in this trap.”
“What terrible luck!”
The Rooster listened quietly.
The Fox continued.
“Please don’t tell anyone I’m here.”
“I don’t want to worry anybody.”
“I’m sure I can free myself soon.”
But the Rooster was clever.
He knew the Fox could not be trusted.
Instead of helping him, the Rooster flapped his wings and crowed loudly.
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
The noise woke all the chickens in the farmyard.
Soon the farmer heard the commotion and came running.
When he saw the trapped Fox, he knew exactly what had happened.
The Fox’s plans were finished.
The Rooster had protected the farm by staying alert and refusing to be fooled.
The Lesson: Do not trust those who have a history of doing wrong. Wise people are careful when others try to deceive them.
