The Ant and the Dove Story

One warm day, a Dove was resting on a branch beside a gently flowing stream.
As she looked down, she noticed a tiny Ant slipping into the water.
The Ant struggled desperately. The current carried him farther and farther away, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not reach the shore.
The Dove felt sorry for the little Ant. Quickly, she plucked a blade of grass from the tree and dropped it into the stream just beside him.
The Ant grabbed the blade of grass at once. Holding on tightly, he floated across the water until he safely reached the bank.
The grateful Ant thanked the Dove for saving his life.
A little while later, the Ant saw a hunter creeping quietly toward the tree where the Dove was resting. The hunter picked up a stone and aimed carefully, hoping to hit the unsuspecting bird.
The Ant knew the Dove was in danger.
Without hesitation, he rushed over and bit the hunter sharply on the heel.
“Ouch!” cried the hunter, jumping in pain.
His hand jerked, and the stone flew wide of its target.
The sudden noise startled the Dove. She spread her wings and flew high into the sky, safely out of reach.
And so, the Dove’s kindness was returned.

Don’t forget: A kindness is never wasted. Good deeds often come back to us when we least expect them.
