Players: Two or more teams
Location: Outdoors
Equipment: Plastic cups, ping pong balls, and a water source (bucket, container, river, or lake)
This exciting team relay game combines speed, teamwork, and careful coordination.
Setup
Arrange a row of plastic cups for each team. Each row should contain the same number of cups, lined up one behind another. Place a ping pong ball in the first cup of each team’s row.
Position a water source a short distance away from the cup rows.
How to Play
Players on each team form a line near the water source.
One at a time, a player fills a separate cup with water and carries it to their team’s row of cups. They pour the water into the cup containing the ping pong ball.
As the cup fills, the ping pong ball gradually rises to the surface. Once the ball is floating at the top, the team must move it to the next cup without touching it. Players do this by gently blowing on the ball until it leaves the full cup and lands in the next cup in the row.
After pouring their water, the player returns to the back of the line, and the next teammate repeats the process.
When a cup has already been filled, additional water can be poured into the next cup in the sequence to prepare for the ball’s arrival.
Winning the Game
Teams continue carrying water and moving the ball from cup to cup until it reaches the final cup in the row.
The first team to successfully move its ping pong ball into the last cup is the winner.

Why It’s Fun
The challenge requires teams to balance speed with precision. Moving water quickly helps fill the cups, but transferring the floating ball without touching it demands careful control. The combination of relay racing and teamwork makes this an excellent outdoor game for children’s groups, camps, field days, and family events.
